Svanhildur Rósa Pálmadóttir finished her diploma at the School of Music in Garðabær under the supervision of Snæbjörg Snæbjarnadóttir. And furthered her studies at the Conservatoir Jacopo Tomadini in Udine, Italy where she finished her master‘s degree with the highest vote under the guidance of Mirna Pecile and Marcello Lippi. During her studies she attended classes with i.e. Kristján Jóhannsson, Franz Lukasovsky, Monica Hauswalter and Walter Coppola.
Svanhildur Rósa has performed roles like Dardano in Händel‘s Amadigi di Gaula, the leading role in Mascagni‘s Zanetto and the roles Suor Zelatrice and La Zia Principessa in Puccini‘s Suor Angelica. Other roles like Isabella in Rossini‘s L‘Italiana in Algeri and the leading role in Bizet‘s Carmen where in concert versions. In the musical genre she has performed the roles of Mary and the Astrologist in Webber‘s Sunset Boulevard and Schwester Celine in Sigmund‘s Nights of Africa.
