The Icelandic Opera will stage Giuseppe Verdi‘s Il Trovatore this Fall, with a premiere at Harpa Concert Hall on October 20th.
In leading roles are Johann Valdimarsson as Manrico, Hulda Björk Garðarsdóttir as Leonora, Alina Dubik / Elsa Waage as Azucena, Anooshah Golesorkhi as Il conte di Luna and Viðar Gunnarsson will sing the role of Ferrando.
American conductor Carol I. Crawford conducts Il trovatore, director will be Halldór E. Laxness, Gretar Reynisson designs sets and costumes are designed by Þórunn María Jónsdóttir. The Icelandic Opera Choir and Orchestra will furthermore participate in the production.
A total of six performances of Il trovatore will take place in Harpa; on Saturday October 20th (premiere), Friday October 26th, Saturday October 27th, Sunday November 4th, Saturday November 10th and Saturday November 17th. All performances start at 8 pm. General ticket price is ISK 8.000.
